Where AI helps in running a business

How I use AI-assisted tools for everyday business tasks, and where I keep my own judgement.

I come to this as an operator

I am not an AI researcher or a software engineer. My interest in AI comes from running businesses and wanting the work to move faster and more clearly. That shapes how I use these tools. I start with the business problem, not the technology.

Where it helps me

I use AI-assisted tools for research, preparing proposals, keeping client records organised, coordinating recruitment, getting a clearer picture of finances and preparing reports. These are tasks that used to take a lot of time and attention. Good tools help me and my teams get to a solid first version sooner.

Start with a real problem

Before adding any tool, I ask what is taking too much time or making the work harder. Sometimes the answer is a tool. Sometimes the answer is a clearer process or a better conversation. Adding technology to a confused process usually just makes the confusion faster.

Keep your judgement

A useful tool does not remove your responsibility. I still read the output, check the facts and make the decision. Clients and colleagues are trusting people, not software. The point is to help people work better, not to hand over their judgement.

What I tell my teams

Use the tools, learn them well and be honest about their limits. Check anything that matters. And remember that the goal is always the same. Serve the client well and do the work properly.

My faith in Jesus Christ shapes what I teach, build and write.
